Q: Can I reserve a lane in advance?
LANE RESERVATIONS
The ranges operates off of a first come, first serve policy. You cannot call and reserve a lane in advance unless you have a range membership.
Range members can reserve a lane up to 72 hours in advance. Same day reservations are not permitted.
Q: What kind of ammo can I use at the range?
AMMUNITION TYPES
Steel case, steel core, full metal jacket, hollow points, and reloads ARE permitted for use on the range. Flammable ammo (incendiary, tracer, SLAP) ammo is NOT permitted for use on the range.
Only firearms which are pistol caliber are allowed at our Hendersonville range. Weapons that are classified as "pistols" but still shoot a rifle caliber (such as AK or AR Pistols) are not permitted to be used at our facility.
AMMUNITION PURCHASES
You must be 18 or older to purchase rifle or shotgun ammunition and 21 or older to purchase handgun ammunition. Ammunition age limits are set by FEDERAL law. Always make sure to use the correct ammunition for your specific firearms. Check your local laws for any other regulations.
Q: Do you have rental guns available?
FIREARM RENTALS
Firearms are available for rent at the range. You can exchange between rentals free of charge as long as they are of the same class and caliber (ie 9mm handguns). Do NOT adjust the optics that may be attached to the weapon as they are zeroed by our range staff. You MUST use ammo purchased from the range in our rental firearms, no exceptions. All rental firearms must be cleared by the RSO on the range prior to returning the firearm to the range counter. You MUST be 21 or older to rent a handgun and 18 or older to rent a Pistol Caliber Carbine. Non-US citizens or permanent residents must possess a valid hunting license to rent firearms unless accompanied by a US citizen 21 years of age or older.
Q: Can I bring my own firearm to the range?
PERSONAL FIREARMS
Personal firearms are welcome at the range. Please ensure that weapons are brought into the range in a holster, box, bag, or case. Please see “Ammunition Types” for ammo that is allowed to be used at the range.
Pistol Caliber Carbines must have either iron sights (both front and rear) or an optic.
Lasers must be zeroed. If your laser is not zeroed properly, it is not to be used as your primary sighting system.
Firing from the hip is not permitted.
Q: Can my child shoot at the range?
CHILDREN/MINORS
Children/minors are welcome at the range. The minimum height requirement for using the range for minors is 48” (4 feet).
Minors MUST be accompanied by their LEGAL GUARDIAN.
Minors cannot be left unattended out on the range or in the lobby.
If children/minors are misbehaving, they will be asked to vacate the range (this is at the RSO’s discretion).
Q: I'm from out of state. Can I shoot at the range?
OUT-OF-STATE VISITORS
Out-of-state visitors are more than welcome to shoot here! All you need is a valid Government ID (drivers license, carry permit, or passport) and you are good to go!
Q: Can I draw and shoot from the holster on the range?
SHOOTING FROM THE DRAW AND HOLSTER USAGE
Yes, we do allow shooters to operate from the holster IF you have met the following requirements:
- Taken a TOA class which covers drawing from the holster (DP2, Red Dot Pistol 1, Defensive Pistol Program, or Private Instruction)
- Are Active Duty Law Enforcement
- Compete in USPSA/IDPA and having a ranking of D or higher (must provide USPSA # so that we can verify you classification)
- Have taken a class from another reputable firearms program or instructor (must have Certificate/Proof of Training from completion of said class)
Holsters used can either be OWB (Outside Waistband), IWB (Inside Waistband), or AIWB (Appendix Inside Waistband). These holsters must be made of either kydex or leather and completely cover the trigger area. Holsters cannot be placed further back then the shooters' 3 O'Clock (if right handed) or 9 O'Clock (if left handed).
The following holster types/carry methods are prohibited from being used range or during any of our classes:
- Cross-Draw
- Shoulder holsters
- Serpa or Serpa-style holsters of any type
- Off-body (fanny pack, purse, etc)
- Ankle holsters
- Pocket draw
Q: What should I wear to the range?
PROPER RANGE ATTIRE
Recommended, but not required, are the following:
Closed toed shoes
No open top/plunging necklines
Ball cap
